Her methods have been introduced to her staff and worked into their lessons and program.
Rebecca’s Lifesaving Society qualifications include; Bronze Cross Examiner, Standard First Aid Instructor, Standard First Aid Examiner, Lifesaving Instructor, National Lifeguard Instructor, National Lifeguard Examiner, Swim Instructor, National Lifeguard, Advanced Instructor, Aquatic Supervisor as well as Red Cross Water Safety Instructor.
Shaun has a background in sales, marketing and business management. He has gained his experience in the automotive business over the last 20 years and has transferred his knowledge and skillset of business and management to the daily operations at Aquatics Academy. As a child, Shaun always had a passion for swimming and completed the Red Cross Learn To Swim Program as well as the Lifesaving Society Bronze courses.
When Rebecca and Shaun are not busy at the pool, you will find them running around after their two busy boys Noah and Colby. In 2018 Aquatics Academy has pledged to raise $50,000.00 in support of SickKids over the next 5 years. Colby is the motivation behind Aquatics Academy's fundraising initiative in support of SickKids. Colby was diagnosed at 3 months old with both an Atrial Septal Defect and a Ventricular Septal Defect in his little heart. In 2015, 12 weeks after diagnosis Colby underwent open-heart surgery at The Hospital for Sick Kids to repair both the ASD and VSD. During surgery the Doctors also found Colby's Mitral valve to be deformed and may require further surgery later in life. Colby will be a patient of the cardiac clinic at SickKids until he reaches adulthood. Rebecca and Shaun are forever grateful to all the doctors, nurses, and support staff for the care Colby received at SickKids.
In 2000 due to requests and client needs, Rebecca started teaching private lessons at her client’s backyard and condo pools. This was the beginning of Aquatics Academy. In 2008 originally named Mobile Aquatics which saw tremendous growth over the years, we started renting local Toronto pools to provide year-round swimming lessons to our customers. Word of mouth spread and the growth continued. In the spring of 2017, we moved into our state of art brand new purpose-built aquatic facility located in the Champagne Centre at 2 Champagne Drive in North York. Our Champagne location serves as our Head Office and the main pool which is open 7 days a week.
Aquatics Academy still specializes in private mobile swimming lessons in Toronto, Vaughan and across GTA, in the comfort of your backyard or condo pool.
Rebecca and Shaun continue to take an active role in the day to day operations of the company to ensure the high level of quality and customer satisfaction expected by our clients.
At Aquatics Academy we provide high-quality swimming lessons in Vaughan, Toronto and across GTA, with low student to instructor ratios. All preschool group classes have a ratio of 2:1 and a maximum ratio of 3:1 for all other 30, 45 and 60-minute classes conducted in an enjoyable and safe environment. The benefit of our low student to instructor ratios ensures an ideal learning environment while maximizing personal instruction time for each participant.
